Alaska - the Last Frontier!!!

We decided to leave the RV in Seattle and board the Norwegian Pearl for a week to Alaska to see the sights. It was time to relax a little and let someone else do the driving!! Will was excited to spend his eleventh birthday on the ship. In anticipation we had a small celebration at the campground the night before we left. His little pal Brandon was excited to join us!
The birthday boy - almost eleven!!

Enjoying Will's birthday gifts.

Waiting....

Boarding the Norwegian Pearl!!

Ahhh- the luxury.

Leaving Seattle, Washington.

Will's eleventh birthday aboard the Pearl.

The Pearl at 965ft. is just a little bit bigger than Snapdragon.

We had to meet the Captain, Rune Myre from Norway!
Alaska's Inside Passage- Day one

Our first day and two nights were spent at sea cruising in Alaska's Inside Passage. The ride was smooth and at an average speed of 22 knots we covered some real ground. It gave us plenty of time to become acclimated to our new home. It felt spacious after our 24 ft. RV. There was lots to do aboard and the kids were immediately busy.

The Alaskan scenery was breathtaking. We were able to spot many whales as we cruised along. This is the migration time for many species, but notably the Humpback whales returning from Hawaii to summer feeding grounds along the rich Alaskan coast. We never tired of spotting them and the last flap of tail was sure to bring applause from viewers.

Chess anyone???

REALLY??? Topless??

They never tired of the climbing wall!!

The scenery was breathtaking!

The hot tub!

A fierce game of dodge ball on deck.
